Ranger Station, Campgrounds & Trails UPDATE:
The Dosewallips Road is washed out 9.2 miles from Highway 101 turnout.
There is a magnificient "trail" of 0.72 miles that goes around
the washout to re-connect with the road. It is a moderate hike through
pristine old-growth forest rich in habitat and wildlife. The Forest Services
is studying building a bridge to re-connect the Dosewallips Road. This
would have a significant adverse effect on critical salmon habitat. So,
for now, the hearty can hike into the Ranger Station, and beyond from
the washout at 9.2 miles up the Dose Road. Campsites available at Dose
Forks, Deception Creek, Camp Marion, Bear Camp, Dose Meadow. Wilderness
permit necessary. Call Olympic National Park Wilderness Info at 360-565-3100.
